About the TeamThe Corporate FP&A team serves as the strategic co-pilot to Yahoo’s businesses. For CTO Finance, we partner deeply with Yahoo's Chief Technology Office and engineering leadership. We oversee the capital and operational investments powering Yahoo’s global digital platforms, infrastructure, data centers, and next-generation product initiatives. Our team combines rigorous financial governance with deep operational empathy to maximize technology ROI, drive cloud cost efficiency, and fund technological innovation at enterprise scale.
Aboutthe Role
The Sr. Director of CTO FP&A will report to the VP of Corporate FP&A & Procurement. This role will be responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis function specifically for the Central Technology Organization. This role acts as a strategic finance partner who also thinks operationally to manage the financial health, planning, CTO allocation management, and technology investments for both Opex and Capital expenditures.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Support the VP of Corporate FP&A with forecasting, annual budget planning, long-range planning, day-to-day financial and operations analysis, and executive presentations
- Serve as the trusted strategic advisor to the CTO and engineering leaders, delivering actionable financial guidance across engineering resource allocation, metrics, cloud infrastructure, software licensing, organizational design, and cost efficiencies
- Manage end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual Technology P&L review across the CTO pillars
- Oversee and manage cost budgets across the Central Technology Office, ensuring accountability and discipline
- Champion the adoption of AI-enabled analytics and predictive modeling tools to automate repetitive variance reconciliations, accelerate month-end close summaries, and improve forecast accuracy
- Leverage available operational data, market trends, and business dynamics to develop, inform, and maintain detailed and accurate short- and long-term financial projections
- Interface with leadership in providing meaningful insights and analytics that will help to deliver on the company's goals and objectives
- Partner with engineering leaders to assess the ROI and total cost of ownership (TCO) for foundational technology initiatives, including product development, generative AI infrastructure, model training/inference costs, cloud optimization, software, and high-performance compute investments

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
- 10+ years of related finance experience, ideally including digital media industry experience
- 5+ years of Management experience
