Teller, Finance & Banking

• Greet customers and visitors entering the lobby or approaching the drive-thru
• Process daily transactions, including deposits, check cashing, loan payments, and cash disbursements
• Identify counterfeit currency
• Verify check signatures, written and numerical amounts, and account funds
• Explain, promote, and sell cashier’s checks and prepaid gift cards
• Exchange foreign currency
• Order bank cards and checks for customers
• Record transactions accurately according to bank procedures
• Answer inquiries about checking, savings, and other bank products
• Assist customers with account errors, problems, and balance inquiries
• Balance currency, cash, and checks in the cash drawer daily
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and contacts
• Handle bank openings and/or closings as assigned
• Work the drive-thru as required
• Float to other locations as required to provide coverage

• High School diploma or GED required
• One (1) year of teller experience required
• Customer service experience preferred
• Independence Bank Teller Certification required within 6 months
• Completion of Teller Fundamentals and Teller Level Up training required within three months
• Cash handling skills

• Ability to maintain confidential information
• Ability to work a Saturday rotation
• May be required to float to other locations
• May require lifting up to 25 pounds

Demonstrates strong cash handling skills and accuracy in processing transactions while maintaining confidentiality and providing excellent customer service. Capable of effectively managing inquiries and resolving account issues with attention to detail and situational judgment.
