About the Finance Team:
The Finance team supports LEDC’s mission by ensuring strong financial stewardship, accountability, and compliance across the organization. The team manages financial reporting, budgeting, grant and loan accounting, audits, and internal controls to support informed decision-making and responsible use of resources.
Working collaboratively across departments, the Finance team plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity while supporting the programs and services that advance economic opportunity in the communities LEDC serves.
Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager is a key role responsible for overseeing LEDC’s day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role directly supervises the members of the Finance team and plays a pivotal part in maintaining the financial integrity and transparency of the organization.
Given the size of the Finance team, this role is also expected to stay flexible and support grants management tasks, currently led by the Senior Accountant and Senior Financial Portfolio Manager, as organizational needs require, particularly during high-volume periods or staff absences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare, review, and ensure the accuracy of financial statements, budgets, and other financial reports in compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance to provide timely and accurate financial data for decision-making.
- Support the Director of Finance in preparing audit schedules and documentation for the annual Single Audit and Form 990 process.
- Review monthly and quarterly program reports prepared by the Accounting & Grants Manager's team for accuracy before they are finalized.
- Manage full-cycle general ledger activity, including reconciliation of specified balance sheet accounts and the trial balance, and preparation and input of monthly journal entries.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including bank reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, receivables, and balance sheet accounts.
- Own the accounts receivable function: monthly A/R aging, new customer setup, invoicing and payment requests, and recording of revenue, invoices, and deposits.
- Manage recurring close schedules, including quarterly benefits and indirect cost allocations, the annual SEFA, and monthly depreciation, amortization, and net asset schedules.
