Battle Bank, N.A. is seeking an experienced commercial lender who combines strong, well-rounded commercial credit skills with a demonstrated track record of building Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) assets and relationships. This is a dual-mandate role: you will be an active participant in the lending activities of Battle Bank, managing commercial lending requests that come to the bank from across the United States and Canada, while proactively developing CRA-qualified lending, investment, and community relationships throughout Minnesota, with a special emphasis on Morrison County and the surrounding Central Minnesota region.

The position is remote or hybrid. Candidates located in Minnesota, particularly within reasonable driving distance of Upsala and the Central Minnesota area, are strongly preferred given the community development focus of the role.

The Commercial Lender – CRA Development Officer will report directly to the Chief Credit Officer and be a member of the Lending team. This is a full-time position, with a pay range of $150,000 – $175,000 depending on experience. • Manage the full life cycle of commercial loan requests received by the bank from clients across the United States and Canada, including origination, structuring, underwriting coordination, negotiation, documentation, closing, and ongoing portfolio management.
• Perform and review credit analysis, cash flow evaluation, collateral assessment, and risk rating of commercial borrowers across a range of industries and structures (operating companies, real estate, partnerships, trusts, and other entities).
• Structure loans appropriately for borrower needs and bank credit policy, and present credit recommendations to loan committee.
• Monitor existing credits for covenant compliance, financial performance, and early warning signs; manage renewals, modifications, and workouts as needed.
• Maintain complete, well-documented credit files consistent with bank policy and regulatory expectations.

• Serve as the bank’s lead business development officer and possibly CRA Coordinator for CRA-qualified lending and community development activity under the bank’s 2027–2029 CRA Strategic Plan.
• Identify, originate, and manage CRA-qualified loans, investments, and relationships across the state of Minnesota, with a special emphasis on Morrison County and the bank’s home assessment area.
• Build and maintain relationships with community development organizations, small business support networks, affordable housing developers, municipalities, economic development authorities, nonprofit lenders, and other community partners.
• Work with the Board, executive management and compliance to track progress against Strategic Plan goals and ensure activities are properly documented for CRA purposes.
• Represent the bank at community events, civic organizations, and development initiatives within the assessment area and coordinate the participation of other team members.
