This is a 6-month contract position for a Senior Credit Analyst based in New York, NY. You will join the Credit Approval team to review and analyze credit transactions, prepare comprehensive credit assessments, and support the credit approval process from origination through post-disbursement monitoring.
Responsibilities- Prepare credit reports with attention to information integrity, analytical quality, and credit merits.
- Conduct joint due diligence vetting, structuring, and analysis on potential transactions.
- Prepare credit assessments including adjudication opinions, financial projections, and stress tests for review by the Head of the Consumer and Industrial team prior to Credit Approval Committee submission.
- Present and defend credit cases before the Credit Approval Committee and Credit Management Committee as applicable.
- Prepare approval documentation, including conditions precedent and requirements for credit approval.
- Review GCMS entries and legal documents with focus on credit terms, covenants, collateral, amortization schedules, interest rates, and other special items.
- Prepare interim and scheduled annual reviews on a timely basis in collaboration with relationship managers during post-disbursement monitoring.
- Attend to audit, loan review, and regulatory requirements.
- Support credit MIS initiatives including portfolio analysis and periodic reporting.
- Support credit policies, procedures, and training initiatives.
- Address other responsibilities as the credit portfolio grows.
- Required
- Bachelor's degree.
- 4–7 years of U.S. commercial credit risk management experience.
- Demonstrated originations capability across multiple product lines.
- Experience in task planning, delegation, progress monitoring, and evaluation.
- Experience in problem identification and problem solving.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a business environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
- Team player and self-starter.
- Preferred
- MBA, CFA, or FRWCOA certification.
