Valley Credit Union is seeking a Specialty Banking Coordinator to support our specialty banking program, with a focus on cannabis-related business members. This position combines member service, relationship building, organization, and compliance support in a role where no two days may look exactly the same.

As the Specialty Banking Coordinator, you’ll help guide business members through onboarding and ongoing program requirements, assist them with Green Check Verified, coordinate documentation and follow-up, and serve as a key connection between members, Compliance, and other areas of the Credit Union. You’ll also have the opportunity to help improve processes, resources, and the overall member experience within the program.

We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple priorities, communicates well, and enjoys helping people navigate processes and requirements. Financial institution, business banking, compliance support, onboarding, cannabis banking, cannabis operations, or other highly regulated industry experience may all provide a strong foundation for the role.

The Specialty Banking Coordinator supports the Credit Union's cannabis banking program by serving as the primary point of contact for routine cannabis-related business member needs, coordinating onboarding and ongoing documentation, and helping members understand and satisfy program requirements. This position works closely with Compliance and other Credit Union departments to ensure information is timely, complete, accurate, and available for Compliance review while providing knowledgeable and responsive member service.

The Specialty Banking Coordinator performs program administration, member support, information gathering, preliminary review for completeness and consistency, and issue escalation. This position does not make final compliance determinations; approve or deny accounts, exceptions, or risk ratings; determine whether a Suspicious Activity Report should be filed; authorize account restrictions or closures; or independently validate its own work. These responsibilities remain with the VP Compliance and Risk or other authorized Compliance personnel.

• Assist prospective cannabis-related business members throughout the onboarding process, including collection and preliminary review of required documentation for completeness.
• Provide hands-on assistance to cannabis-related business members with Green Check Verified, including onboarding, ongoing use, documentation submission, and routine troubleshooting.
• Maintain regular and proficient use of the Green Check Verified platform as it relates to cannabis member onboarding, monitoring support, documentation, follow-up, and reporting.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for routine program, documentation, Green Check, and servicing questions. Refer sensitive, interpretive, or decision-based compliance matters to authorized Compliance personnel.
