VP, Loan Risk Officer

Under minimal supervision, the VP-Loan Risk Officer is responsible for evaluating, monitoring, and enhancing the Bank’s credit risk management framework to ensure the safety, soundness, and quality of the loan portfolio. The incumbent will help identify regulatory issues related to credit risk management guidelines, provide recommendations to senior leadership, and helps ensure that proper credit controls are in place to satisfy standards established by bank regulators.

This role is responsible for ongoing monitoring and analysis of the loan portfolio and participates in complex servicing actions to ensure prudent management of the portfolio risk on as needed basis. This position requires that the individual work in office, independently, and with minimal supervision.

Ensure compliance within all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct analysis, inspect and/or develop credit risk reporting for specific loans as well as monitor and report on key indicators for changes in credit quality to communicate to senior management
• Monitor client's financial performance, including spreading, cash flow analysis, annual reviews, industry trends and emerging risks. Present findings and recommendations to senior management
• Identify risks early that could impact the portfolio and coordinate with business counterparts to resolve portfolio issues including review and follow-up on Loan Status Updates
• Review weekly past due loan report to identify deteriorating loans, report findings, and prepare risk grade changes as needed.
• Monitor CRE Loan portfolio in accordance with loan policy.
• Monitor Watch and Problem Loans and evaluate terms and conditions to confirm appropriate risk grade
• Prepare Watch list and Problem Loan reports. Ensure that reports include specific triggers to upgrade or downgrade the relationship and provide an action plan
• Order and review annual site inspections for CRE portfolio
• Assist in ensuring the quality and data integrity of the monthly and quarterly reports submitted to executive management and the board of directors
• Coordinate quarterly Problem Loan meetings
• Minimum of 10 hours CRA volunteer hours per year. Volunteer hours are typically scheduled within business hours. This is compensable time and mileage is reimbursed
• Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities; however, all employees are expected to provide mentoring and training support as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
• Minimum 5-10 years Commercial Banking experience
• Minimum 3-5 years in Credit Administration
• Foundational understanding of legal credit agreements
• Proficient in the following software applications: MS Work, Excel, Outlook
• Well organized and excellent written and verbal communications
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
