- Safeguard assets and ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments
- Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes and analysis of results
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage and mentor direct reports to achieve short- and long-term goals
- Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records and key metrics for CFO and other officers of the company
- Work closely with operations to support all departments
- Oversee the integrity of data in all systems.
- Manage daily cash flow and develop and provide projections of cash flow to the President and CFO
- Work with team on the budget process, including revenue, expenses and preparation of the budget
- Ensure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals
- Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. when necessary
- Assist CFO with managing commercial banking and borrowing relationships to facilitate an appropriate credit resource
- Learn ERP systems to support the team, dig into details, and resolve system-related accounting challenges.
- Interface with outside audit firms(s), banks and lessors
- Provide a visionary and leadership implementation role on behalf of Finance to all departments, creating a well-respected and sought-after department goal
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including leadership responsibility.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
- Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members
- Proven record of managing and motivating a team with measurables and objectives
- Recent ERP system implementation experience a plus
- Up to 15% of travel required
