Financial Controller Overview
As the Financial Controller, you will build and own the finance function for a 40-person, single-site food manufacturer under PE ownership. You'll lead the monthly close, reporting to the CEO, and establish KPIs, cost accounting, and financial controls. This role directly supports growth with a clear path to CFO as the company scales and professionalizes its finance function. You'll partner with department heads on budgets and drive compliance, planning, and treasury activities to enable strategic decision-making.

- Base salary $130,000-$160,000
- Stand up the finance function: close process, reporting cadence, KPIs, cost accounting structure
- Lead financial planning and risk analysis
- Manage monthly close, flash reports, MD&A and board reporting
- Oversee covenant compliance and budgeting processes
- Oversee AR, AP, payroll, and internal control operations
- Ensure compliance with financial laws and guidelines
- Coordinate tax with outside counsel
- Sage ERP ownership and potential upgrade roadmap
- Banking, treasury, insurance relationship management
- Oversee ad-hoc analyses as needed
- Coordinate supply/demand planning with Sales
- Audit coordination with external firms
- B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- CPA or CMA preferred but not required
- Manufacturing cost accounting experience (food & beverage)
- Production floor understanding and inventory variance knowledge
- Experience closing books and owning monthly/quarterly cycles
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance principles
- Sage ERP experience a plus
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience in a small company environment
- Comfort with PE-level reporting discipline and pace
- On-site role in Greater Philadelphia area
