About MAG Community Initiatives DivisionThe Community Initiatives Division collaborates with local governments, Native nations and community leaders to facilitate human services planning and projects that improve people’s lives and strengthen communities throughout the region. It focuses on legacy work addressing homelessness, domestic violence and aging, and staffs the Maricopa Regional Continuum of Care.
The PositionMAG is seeking a bright, driven, team‑oriented, experienced professional to serve as a senior planner, responsible for project management and oversight of work products related to the federally funded Continuum of Care program. The role focuses on data management, performance measures, and support for the application for HUD homeless funding.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, facilitate, and synthesize input from multi‑stakeholder committee meetings; track actionable items.
- Conduct research and analysis on needs assessments, gap analyses and program evaluations.
- Contribute to agenda planning, draft memos and presentations.
- Develop performance measures, dashboards, and monitor program outcomes.
- Draft reports and board/committee materials, presenting findings to leadership.
- Build relationships across nonprofits, state agencies, and community groups.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of homelessness programs, project management, policies and regulations, and experience in facilitation, report writing and presenting homeless information to diverse stakeholders.
Key Skills and Experience- Experience working with diverse systems impacting homelessness (healthcare, criminal justice, education, employment).
- Experience with meeting planning, taking meeting notes, writing agendas, reports and policy documents.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders with divergent priorities.
- Ability to multi‑task and manage time effectively; manage daily project goals and priorities.
- Strong policy background and data policy experience.
- Data analysis and strategic decision‑making skills.
- Strong negotiation skills in driving change and developing mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Experience with media.
Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Education and Experience- Bachelor’s degree in social work, public policy, public administration or a related field is required.
- At least 3 years of related work experience; experience addressing homelessness, a Continuum of Care and/or HUD funded program is preferred.
