The Morgan County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Building Inspector within the Planning and Development Department.
Position Summary:
The Building Inspector is responsible for reviewing construction plans and performing on-site inspections to ensure compliance with all applicable state and local building codes. This role also involves enforcing zoning ordinances, investigating code violations, and responding to citizen concerns and complaints.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in building construction, inspection, or ordinance enforcement
- Experience with plan review and building inspection is preferred
- Certification by the State of Georgia in building inspection is a plus
- Strong knowledge of building and zoning code enforcement principles and practices
Starting Compensation: $24.72 per hour ($51,422.15 annually), based on qualifications.
