- Analyze SNAP data and research to identify trends, disparities, implementation challenges, and opportunities to improve program access
- Evaluate existing or proposed legislation, regulations, policies, and practices
- Provide guidance to defend, improve, and expand SNAP’s positive impacts
- Recommend policy changes to streamline and improve accessibility and increase SNAP compliance
- Write or assist with persuasive analytic and research materials, guides, outreach materials, and reports
- Present to diverse audiences at local, state, regional, and national conferences and meetings
- Provide information, technical assistance, analysis, training, strategic advice, and hands‑on support to organizations, agencies, nonprofits, and activists
- Provide expertise and support to other program areas and departments as assigned by the SNAP Director
- Represent FRAC at coalition and partner meetings
- Assist in managing regrants to national, state, and local nonprofits and provide technical assistance to regrantees
- Perform other assigned tasks
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in advocacy, program operations, policy analysis and/or organizing
- Advanced degree in public policy, law, public administration, social work, economics, public health, or related discipline required
- Demonstrated knowledge of SNAP
- Strong policy research, analysis, and writing skills
- Ability to interpret complex statutes, regulations, and administrative guidance
- Ability to evaluate policies, processes, or programs to identify issues and recommend solutions
- Ability to communicate technical policy issues clearly to specialized and nontechnical audiences
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience in nonprofit, government or policy work strongly preferred
- Ability to tap input and engagement from people with lived experience with hunger and poverty strongly preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment
- Commitment to FRAC’s mission and improving access to nutrition assistance for people with low incomes
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Demonstrates expertise in policy analysis, advocacy, and program operations, with a strong focus on SNAP and improving access to nutrition assistance. Capable of conducting research, writing persuasive materials, and presenting complex policy issues to diverse audiences.
