The position requires thorough knowledge of employee safety programs, OSHA General Industry Standards and other State and Federal regulations, risk management techniques, preparing detailed reports and maintaining records, the use of standard office equipment and applicable software, and the use of equipment associated with the position; general knowledge of the City’s policies and procedures manual; and the ability to make arithmetic computations, to compute rates, ratios and percentages, to conduct workplace inspections, assess risks and identify solutions, to research, collect, organize, and analyze data, to present ideas effectively both orally and in writing, and to establish and maintain effective relationships with associates, employees, supervisors and the general public.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major coursework in safety or related field, and moderate experience in safety and risk management is required.
Possession of a valid NC driver’s license upon hire. Must meet and maintain all certification, license and training requirements for position.
