Guidehouse is currently seeking financial management professionals to support our Federal Civilian Agencies (FCA) Energy & Environment clients. This group of clients includes Department of Energy, Department of the Interior, Environmental Protection Agency, Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board, and National Science Foundation. Incoming Senior Consultants will work with Chief Financial Officer (CFO) organizations to help them address their most pressing challenges in internal control, financial reporting, and process optimization.
Responsibilities- Support financial statement audit cycle, strategy and execution, oversight and reporting, and development of audit infrastructure.
- Apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (ICOFR), Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-123 and Government Accountability Office (GAO) Green Book principles.
- Support audit remediation, including Agency-wide remediation support and development of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
- Lead internal control design and testing.
- Support development of analytic products, reconciliations, automation of controls, data pipelines, dashboards, or automation workflows.
- Facilitate client working sessions and support senior client stakeholders.
- Collaborate across Guidehouse practice areas to bring integrated solutions that combine strategy, technology, and operations.
- Support new business by contributing to account growth strategies, preparing proposal responses to the Government, and developing client relationships.
- Five(5) years of relevant professional experience in consulting, finance, accounting, operations, or analytical roles, preferably supporting public sector or highly regulated environments.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in client service and team-based environments, especially when tackling unstructured problems.
- Strong attention to detail, well organized, and able to self-prioritize multiple activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
This hybrid position role requires up to 4-5 days on-site at the Client's office in Washington, DC. This hybrid position is open to candidates who will reside within 50 miles of Washington, DC. Based on our contractual obligations, candidate must be located within the United States and be a US Citizen. Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
What Would Be Nice to Have- Advanced degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, or Business Management/Administration.
- One or more professional certifications strongly preferred, such as CPA, CIA, PMP, CGFM, and/or CDFM.
- Experience supporting financial systems and providing financial management support, including audit/audit readiness, audit remediation, internal controls, and process improvement.
- Demonstrated knowledge of IT auditing standards and guidance.
- Willingness to learn, use, and apply emerging technologies to solve business challenges.
- Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.
The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
