The United States Naval Academy Band has an opening for a Clarinet player to join their Ceremonial/Marching Units and various chamber ensembles. Applicants are required to submit a one-page resume to auditions by September 14, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST. A live audition is scheduled for September 28, 2026, at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Candidates not meeting professional standards may be dismissed by the audition committee.
Candidates are responsible for their own travel arrangements and expenses. Active-duty musicians from any branch of the U.S. military must include a letter of endorsement from their commanding officer with their application. The starting salary for new members of the U.S. Naval Academy Band ranges from $77,748 to $85,272, along with benefits such as 30 days of paid leave annually, full medical coverage, education tuition assistance, the GI Bill, and student loan repayment up to $65,000.Successful
candidates will enter at the pay grade of E-6 (Musician First Class) and will be contractually obligated for permanent assignment to the U.S. Naval Academy Band in Annapolis, Maryland.
