Code Enforcement Officer - Surf City Borough.
The Borough is seeking a Part-time qualified, motivated, and professional individual to serve as a Code Enforcement Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for enforcing Borough ordinances and applicable State and local codes relating to property maintenance, zoning, housing, and other municipal regulations. Duties include conducting inspections, responding to resident complaints, documenting violations, issuing notices and summonses when necessary, maintaining accurate records, and working with property owners, contractors, Borough officials, and other agencies to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Knowledge of municipal code enforcement, property maintenance, zoning, and related regulations.
- Strong communication, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.
- The ability to interact professionally and effectively with the public.
- The ability to conduct field inspections and prepare detailed reports and documentation.
- A valid New Jersey driver's license.
- Relevant New Jersey certifications and/or experience in code enforcement, construction, zoning, housing, or municipal operations are preferred.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, ranging from $20 to $25 per hour.
