Township Administrator - Edgewater Park Township

The Township is seeking an experienced and qualified leader with strong management, communication, and collaboration skills for a municipality with a population of 9617, consisting of 2.92 square miles and an annual budget of approximately 13 million dollars. This position will be available February 1, 2027 due to the retirement of the current administrator, with the expectation of a reasonable transitional overlap.

The Township Administrator serves at the will of the Township Committee and is responsible for the day-to-day management of municipal operations including but not limited to matters of personnel and oversight of all department heads, budget preparation, grant funding, acting as a liaison between the governing body and the public/businesses. The ideal candidate must have an understanding of New Jersey municipal government, budgeting, purchasing, public contracts, personnel administration, NJ civil service, collective bargaining, risk management, redevelopment/planning matters, grants and capital planning.

Attendance at regular Township Committee meetings currently held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, as well as any special meetings are required, meeting days are subject to change. The Township Administrator candidate must have a minimum of 3 years' progressively responsible experience in local government administration or comparable public sector management experience. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college is required (Masters in Public Administration is preferred).

Full-time Salary range is $95,000 to $135,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
