The Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) is a progressive business regulatory state agency dedicated to the mission of protecting and serving Oregon's consumers and workers while supporting a positive business climate. The department administers state laws and rules governing workers' compensation, occupational safety and health, financial institutions, insurance companies and building codes. The department has consumer protection and education programs, offices, and ombuds to help consumers, injured workers, and businesses.

This position is with the Workers' Compensation Division (WCD). WCD administers, regulates, and enforces the laws and administrative rules governing the Oregon workers' compensation system.

** Here’s what you will do:
** As a Field Investigator, you will conduct investigations to determine employer compliance with workers’ compensation coverage requirements and the subjectivity of injured workers. Through the gathering and analysis of information and the interpretation of workers’ compensation laws, rules, and policies, you will issue proposed orders and impose sanctions for noncomplying employers. You will also provide technical assistance to regulated employers to educate and increase awareness of the need for workers’ compensation coverage.

** Here’s what you need to qualify:

* Minimum Qualifications:

* Four years of experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action, or decide compliance with program guidelines and regulations. Two of the four years must be above the technical support level.

Note:

college-level course work may substitute for experience on the basis of 45-quarter units per year, up to a maximum of three years.
