OR – Division Chief of Training – Garibaldi Fire Department – Closing

THE POSITION:

This position is responsible for the planning, development, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of all fire and EMS training and programs for the Garibaldi Fire Department.

This is an Exempt/Non-Represented position. Annual salary $65,000, plus, The City offers a generous benefits package that includes

The position requires a minimum of a 32-hour work week not including scheduled “duty officer” hours. The successful candidate would be expected to respond to after-hour emergencies and to be readily available during on-call periods.

Minimum requirements:

Ten (10) years of fire service experience, including a minimum of three (3) years of experience serving as a Company Officer or higher, a minimum of three (3) years of experience leading or managing a fire and/or EMS training division or comprehensive training program, Instructor II, Fire Officer II, EMT Basic license or higher, an insurable Oregon driver’s license, and a working knowledge of Imagetrend Elite.

Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position may be considered equivalent.

• Associate degree in fire Science, Emergency Management, Education, or any related field
• Chief Officer experience
• Experience overseeing both fire and EMS training programs with a volunteer or combination fire department
• Experience serving as an Agency Safety Officer
• Demonstrated experience with training records and credential management systems
