* Job Summary:

** A Research Analyst II organizes and analyzes data of international, national and local intelligence and statistics into actionable data in a City agency. The work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.

Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek. Positions in this class that are assigned to the Baltimore City Police Department work a rotating shift, to include evening, weekend and holidays. Work is performed in an office where working conditions are normal. Work requires minimal physical exertion.

* *** On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must:

* Education:

** Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with a course in quantitative methods or research methods.
** AND
* **
* Experience:

** Have two years of experience in compiling, analyzing and interpreting data.
** OR
* *** Equivalency Notes:
** Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.

* NOTE:

** Positions in the Baltimore City Police Department must have two years of experience in compiling, analyzing and interpreting police data.

* NOTE:

** Those eligibles who are under final consideration for appointment to some positions in this class will be required to authorize the release of criminal conviction information and undergo a full background investigation from the Baltimore City Police Department.

** Positions in the Baltimore City Police Department must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. (FBI)**
