The City of Easthampton is looking to fill the position of
On-Call Public Safety Dispatcher
. Dispatchers are responsible for receiving, assessing, and dispatching police, fire, and emergency medical response units for emergency and routine calls serving the City of Easthampton and Town of Southampton. They perform clerical, administrative, and technical duties related to the receipt, processing, and dispatch of emergency and routine information; maintain accurate and official records; and assist with implementing and administering the Dispatch Center’s standard operating procedures.

The Dispatch Center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Perform all other related duties as required.

Wages
: $25.25 - $26.53 Per Hour

High school diploma or equivalent required plus an equivalent combination of education and experience, with strong communication, computer, multitasking, and high-stress skills.

Appointment is contingent upon successful completion of a Massachusetts Board of Probation record check and an Interstate Identification Index (III) record check. Must meet the minimum qualification requirements established by the Massachusetts Criminal History Systems Board (CHSB) for access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI).
