The Role

To work within the eHealth Infrastructure Customer Support Team to provide an IT equipment and software build and deployment service to NHS Lanarkshire users and services. The post holder will be responsible for the correct build, installation and disposal of NHS Lanarkshire IT assets as part of a deployment team for both large scale project work and business as usual activity.

The work of the post holder will be directed by the Customer Services Manager in association with the Infrastructure Project Manager.

What we'll need you to bring
  • Educated to HNC level in an IT related subject.
  • Proven, demonstrable experience of working in an IT support environment.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and to be able to construct good working relationships with other team members.
  • Ability to apply a range of technical and practical skills.
  • Time management, planning and organisational skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with clinical staff and immediate colleagues.
  • Attainment of a basic level of computer literacy i.e. regular user of software such as Microsoft Office Word, E-Mail, electronic diary etc.
  • Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.
  • The post holder must be able to drive and hold a current driving license.
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have

  • Previous experience within warehouses and the using of stock and systems software

Please note this is a fixed term post for a duration of 1 year. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

This role will be based in Infrastructure - Telecomms Department within Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters. The working pattern for this role will be confirmed by the hiring manager.
