Paramedic - Part-time, 2nd Shift

Summary

Provides advanced life support care to patients who are ill and/or injured and serves as a part‑time, 12‑hour‑per‑week Paramedic for the Transport EMS team at Baptist Health Louisville.

• Provide patient care within the medical director approved department protocols and state scope of practice.
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately.
• Thoroughly and accurately complete all required documentation and patient care reports within the required timeframe.
• Provide care appropriate to the emergency population and maintain the environment of care.
• Perform ambulance transportation services within the scope of practice of a Paramedic.
• Set priorities for the transport of multiple patients.
• Assure resources and coordinate plan of delivery.
• Maintain knowledge and familiarity with each vehicle in the fleet to operate smoothly and safely.
• Assure ambulance is clean, stocked and response‑ready at the beginning and end of every shift and prior to each request for service.
• Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and equipment readiness as well as proper ALS gear readiness and utilization.

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS at time of consideration.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider issued by AHA or ARC.
• PALS & ACLS certifications.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Valid driver’s license.
