Performs medical and clinical duties to assist providers in the Family Practice Center. Will be responsible for rooming patients and managing their flow from the front office to an exam room through discharge. Assists in the care of patients ensuring quality care, physical exams, injury care, radiology imaging and other medical services. Demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

• Provide direct patient care and treatment including preparing patients for physician examination, measuring and recording vital signs, medical history, administering routine lab tests (UAs, strep screens, etc.), performing EKGs, injections, auditory and visual screenings, spirometry, and administering medications and recording results.
• Document all clinical findings and patient responses to interventions, provide patient care and clinical support to physicians during exams.
• Assist physicians with procedures by preparing the patient, setting up the room, and instruments needed, and restoring the room afterward.
• Manage daily inventory of exam rooms and work areas; keep stock adequate, discard & report outdated supplies, clean and disinfect exam rooms, and report equipment malfunctions.
• Assist with completion of referrals, outpatient testing, pre‑certification, and scheduling.
• Participate in PI studies.
• Perform in‑office x‑rays as ordered by physicians, maintain radiology competency, operate digital equipment and monitor, practice ALARA and patient shielding.
• Handle patient phone calls and inquiries, follow up unresolved concerns, return calls/voicemails within one business day.
• Perform daily quality control checks and calibrations on equipment, perform proficiency testing, document calibration records.
• Maintain CPR certification and complete annual skills, competency checks and radiology testing, successfully complete orientation process for skill assignment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Registered by ARRT.
• Licensed to practice in the state where work is performed.
• Maintain full compliance with all continuing education requirements for license and registration.

• Excellent customer service/communication skills.
• Ability to organize time and tasks.
• Demonstrated competency in routine radiography.

• One year of experience performing x-rays in a physician’s office, hospital, or occupational health center.
• Relevant clinical experience in a related medical setting.
