Key Responsibilities
- Works with team members to resolve challenges and receive training and support.
- Demonstrates the ability to deal with patients and insurance companies.
- Identifies billing and insurance coverage problems and communicates with the Billing Manager and Utilization review.
- Assists with logistical and/or clerical problem resolution related to the patient’s medical records, authorization and billing issues.
- Pre-verify benefits and eligibility for all HMO, PPO, commercial, and Medicaid insurances for all old and new patients/clients.
- Contacts insurance companies by telephone to verify benefits.
- Enter the patient’s benefits information in KIPU CRM Software and assign it to the appropriate Intake Coordinator.
- Monitors all incoming faxes and directs them to the appropriate people.
- Inputs authorization information in the appropriate patient’s chart received via fax.
- May access protected health information (PHI) only to the extent necessary to complete job duties.
- Encouraged and expected to report, without threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s policies and procedures about client privacy and any observed practices in violation of policy to supervisor.
- Protects the privacy of all persons served/clients information in accordance with Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a healthcare provider.
- High School Diploma/GED – AA degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of computer usage with experience in a Windows environment.
- Self‑motivated.
- Availability to work some evening shifts.
- Ability to meet deadlines and stay on schedule.
- Ability to enforce program requirements.
- Problem‑solving abilities.
