Location: Crestview Hills

Overview

Primary Location Crestview Hills. Department Crestview Urgent Care. Shift Evening. Schedule Part time. Weekly Hours 8. FTE 0.2. Employee Status Regular.

Estimated Starting Pay Range: $37.00 - $41.40 per hour. Starting pay is based on experience, skills, and equity; exceptions may apply for highly qualified candidates. Additional pay (e.g., shift, on-call, or weekend differentials) and benefits may apply. Annual pay may vary based on FTE status.

Job Responsibilities
  • Compliance – Patient Services Staff:
    Sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Support leadership in compliance efforts to meet and sustain regulatory compliance for the department and hospital. Monitor safety and departmental policies and procedures. Ensure all certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled in a timely basis. Collaborate with department managers, nurse council and magnet representatives to identify and share safety best practices.

    Be mindful of CCHMC9s processes and CMS standards and communicate safety and compliance concerns to leadership.
  • Systems thinking:
    Understand the patient and family within the unit; support the family through the healthcare experience via care coordination. Maintain ongoing understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Help lead efforts to meet and sustain regulatory compliance. Monitor and comply with safety and departmental policies. Ensure certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled timely. Be mindful of CCHMC9s processes andCMS standards and communicate concerns to leadership.
  • Clinical judgment in caring practices:
    Collect clinical data; follow algorithms, decision trees, and protocols. Match formal knowledge with clinical events to make appropriate decisions; use available resources as needed. Document plan of care, care delivered, and patient and family outcomes. Focus on patient and family needs; anticipate future needs; base care on standards and protocols; maintain a safe environment; recognize death as a potential outcome.

    Integrate age-specific concepts into patient care and consider developmental functioning. Use self-management support to develop goals with patients and families. Facilitate learning by providing structured education based on the plan of care and needs, using teach-back to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Clinical inquiry & performance review:
    Follow standards and guidelines; implement clinical changes and research-based practices. Seek further learning to improve patient care; recognize need for assistance in unusual situations. Use self-appraisal and peer review for competence and professional development; engage in coaching and mentoring. Facilitate learning for peers and students. Collaborate with department managers, nurse council and magnet representatives to identify, share, implement and evaluate safety best practices.
  • Interprofessional Practice:
    Demonstrate consistent integration of the Interprofessional Practice Model; advocate for patients and families; assess values and ethical considerations; consider patients9 rights and cultural inclusion. Recognize cultural impact on patient/family experience and incorporate culturally inclusive concepts into care.
  • Patient Care – Age Specific and Culturally Inclusive:
    Consistently integrate age-specific and culturally inclusive concepts into patient care, considering the patient9s chronological age and developmental functioning.
Job Qualifications
  • Associate or Diploma RN prepared from an ACEN, CCNE or NLN CNEA accredited institution with 2+ years of experience.
  • If hired without a BSN or MSN, must enroll in a BSN or MSN program within 1 year of hire date/RN job date and complete the program within 5 years of hire/RN job date. Preferred: BSN or MSN from ACEN, CCNE or NLN CNEA accredited institution or MSN.
  • Active Ohio RN License. May be required to obtain other state licensure. Foreign graduates must have license validated through TruMeritTM per Ohio Board of Nursing code for Foreign Graduates.
