PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENTUsual working space is a well-ventilated area. Requires standing, walking, turning, bending, stooping, and lifting. Clear speech to communicate effectively with customers (e.g. patients, families, and other team members). Fine and gross motor skills. Environment may be stressful at times, therefore ability to work under stressful conditions is necessary. Also subject to blood borne pathogens at all times in patient care. May have occasional exposure to radiation during radiology procedures and to dangerous chemicals (cleaning and disinfecting agents).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manager of Environmental Services is responsible for management of the Environmental Services Department covering all OCH locations. Duties will include the following tasks:
- Create and maintain the workday schedules and hours to ensure adequate staff are available to complete all duties and assignments.
- Assist with any EVS duties such as preparation, cleaning or restoring to normalcy.
- Communicate shifts, schedules and duties to all subordinates to maintain clear directives of duties.
- Ensure daily assignments/tasks (routine shifts and deep clean) are being accomplished and staff remain productive.
- Work in collaboration with the director to request additional staff members as needed.
- Ensure newly hired employees are properly trained and competent to perform all assigned duties.
- Order and receive supplies.
- Ability to properly educate all employees on all safety measures required for handling any chemicals, cleaners or equipment related to EVS job duties.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contract groups to ensure EVS needs are met. These may include pest control, waste management & commercial cleaning services.
- Performs quality assurance audits and patient satisfaction surveys routinely, guiding staff in needed improvements.
- Maintain time and attendance logs, addressing excessive occurrences as necessary.
- Maintain month-end laundry counts, reporting required data to the accounting department as requested.
- Collaborate with director regarding employee performance matters.
- Acts as the primary contact for customer service issues regarding EVS and Housekeeping. This includes patient concerns or complaints, as well as all hospital departmental inquiries.
- Investigate and resolve any EVS/Housekeeping issues.
- Utilizes Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Utilizes online ordering programs as needed
- Other duties as needed
