River's Bend Retirement Communityis hiring a Dietary Services Managerto lead our dining team. RBRC has 40 skilled nursing beds and 36 Assisted Living Apartments.
About the Role:
The Dietary Services Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the planning, coordination, and management of dietary services within RBRC. This position ensures that all nutritional programs meet regulatory standards and effectively support the health and well-being of residents. The manager leads a team of dietary staff, fostering a collaborative environment to deliver high-quality meal services tailored to diverse dietary needs.
They are responsible for budgeting, procurement, and maintaining compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations. Ultimately, the role aims to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes through exceptional dietary service management and continuous quality improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in dietary services management within a healthcare or social assistance environment.
- Knowledge of nutrition principles, food safety standards, and healthcare dietary regulations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in budgeting and inventory management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential.
- Experience with electronic health records and dietary management software.
- Advanced knowledge of specialized diets for clinical populations such as renal, diabetic, or cardiac patients.
- Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies and patient satisfaction measurement.
- Previous experience working in a hospital or long-term care facility.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor dietary programs that meet the nutritional needs of residents in accordance with healthcare guidelines.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate dietary staff to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and procurement of food supplies while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and sanitation regulations and maintain accurate documentation for audits and inspections.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including dietitians and nursing staff, to customize meal plans and address special dietary requirements.
- Analyze and improve operational processes to enhance service quality and patient satisfaction.
- Prepare reports on dietary services performance, budget status, and regulatory compliance for senior management.
