Monitor Technician (Part Time

Sentara Health is seeking a part time, night shift Monitor Tech for Telemetry Monitor Surveillance at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA.

• Part Time, Night Shift, 24 hours/week

• 7pm - 7am

• Must be available to work during the week and on weekends

Observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient s norm. Promptly notifies appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias. Operates and utilizes monitoring system to full capacity. Ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.

• High School Diploma and completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course (Required)

OR

• High School Diploma and 1 year experience in monitor technician surveillance within the last 5 years may be accepted in substitute of a monitor tech surveillance program/course

• Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire.

• To be released from new employee orientation all Monitor Technicians must successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool which includes passing a basic arrhythmia exam

• 1 year of experience in monitor technician surveillance/EKG monitoring within the last 5 years may be accepted in lieu of a monitor tech surveillance program/course
