Activities Coordinator, Senior Living (Part-Time or Full-Time)

Front Porch of Bowdon is a personal care home where most residents are older adults living with dementia. The Activities Coordinator works under the Activities Director to plan and run the daily activities that give residents structure, engagement, and connection. There will be flexibility in your scheduling but weekends matter to residents. They tend to be the quietest, longest days for residents, and we need someone who will be there to fill them with something to do.

This is hands on, people facing work. You spend your day with residents, not behind a desk.

Key responsibilities

• Help plan and lead daily activities including group games, music, crafts, light exercise, and seasonal or holiday events
• Keep residents engaged on weekends, when staffing is lighter and the days feel longer
• Run one on one engagement with residents who do not join group activities, including those who need patience and repeated invitations
• Lead the activity schedule independently when the Activities Director is out
• Set up and clean up activity spaces and keep supplies stocked and organized
• Learn each resident well enough to know their interests, history, and what engages them
• Adapt activities in the moment when a resident's mood, energy, or the day changes
• Document participation and resident response as directed
• Communicate with the care team about resident needs you notice during activities
• Follow facility policies and Georgia personal care home standards for resident safety and dignity

What we are looking for

• Available to work weekends. This is a core part of the role, not an occasional ask
• Genuinely enjoys being around older adults and does not get rattled easily
• Patient and steady, especially with residents who have memory loss or are resistant
• Reliable and follows through. If you say you will be there, you are there
• Creative enough to keep activities fresh and willing to try things that may not work
• A team player who takes direction from the Activities Director and fills gaps without being asked
• Comfortable leading a room and also sitting quietly with one person

Preferred but not required

• Prior experience in senior care, memory care, or activities programming
• CPR or first aid certification
• Experience working with people who have dementia or other cognitive conditions

Physical and other requirements

• Willingness to learn, be present, and desire to improve the lives of our residents.
• Able to be on your feet for most of a shift
• Able to lift and carry light activity supplies
• Able to pass a background check
• Reliable transportation to Bowdon, GA

Schedule and pay

• Part time or full time depending on your availability and ours
• Weekend availability required, exact days and frequency can be negotiated
• Starting pay $12 per hour with room to grow
• Reports to the Activities Director
