Position Summary

The Physical Therapy Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the Physical Therapy Department across multiple hospital service lines. This individual is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation services while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and evidence-based clinical practice.

The Director will oversee department operations, staffing, scheduling, productivity, quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and team development while partnering with physicians, nursing leadership, case management, and other disciplines to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage daily operations of the Physical Therapy Department.
  • Recruit, mentor, coach, and evaluate Physical Therapy staff.
  • Ensure delivery of safe, effective, evidence-based patient care.
  • Monitor department productivity, staffing, scheduling, and operational performance.
  • Maintain compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, federal, state, and organizational standards.
  • Oversee documentation quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing, case management, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and hospital leadership.
  • Develop and implement departmental goals, quality initiatives, and performance improvement projects.
  • Assist with budgeting, resource utilization, equipment management, and strategic planning.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and exceptional patient care.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Current Louisiana Physical Therapist (PT) License in good standing.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical Physical Therapy experience required.
