Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)

PRN

We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide therapeutic services under the direction of a licensed therapist. This role supports residents in achieving functional goals while ensuring care is delivered safely, accurately, and in compliance with regulatory and reimbursement standards.

This position is ideal for a licensed Therapy Assistant who values teamwork, documentation accuracy, and quality resident outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient treatments as directed by a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Carry out treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and care plans
  • Document treatments, resident progress, and daily charges accurately and timely
  • Maintain productivity standards as established by the department
  • Communicate resident progress, concerns, and changes to supervising therapist
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, care conferences, and utilization reviews
  • Instruct residents, families, and nursing staff on restorative or home programs as directed
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of therapy areas and equipment
  • Report equipment issues to appropriate personnel
  • Participate in facility performance improvement initiatives
  • Travel or float between facilities as assigned, based on resident needs
  • Maintain compliance with Medicare, reimbursement, and regulatory guidelines
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current state licensure or registration as an OTA
  • Knowledge of Medicare and reimbursement regulations
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Dependable, organized, and patient-focused
Physical Requirements
  • Standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting residents throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Exposure to clinical environments and patient care settings
  • Ability to manage physical and emotional demands of patient care
