Description

Come join Psychiatric Medical Care's adolescent behavioral health outpatient program, "Embrace U". Embrace U is a combined IOP and PHP treating patients ages 10-18.

  • Location:

    Mount Juliet, TN (onsite)
  • Hours:

    Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm
  • Salary: $70,000-$75,000 based on experience and licensure
  • Must have 2+ years of psych experience post Master's graduation.
    Must be licensed.

Job Description

  • The Program Therapist provides therapeutic services for patients utilizing group, individual, and family therapy sessions to adolescents in an intensive outpatient environment. They work within a small, interdisciplinary team with a focus on quality patient care and provision of services ordered by a physician. The Licensed Therapist documents all completed services in compliance with provided standards and regulations and is thorough with details and organization.

Experience Required

  • Candidates with experience working with neurodivergent adolescents and a commitment to neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based care are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of neurodiversity and experience providing therapy to neurodivergent adolescents, including individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental differences.
  • Ability to deliver neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based, and developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions tailored to the unique needs of adolescents.
  • Experience supporting adolescents with executive functioning challenges, emotional regulation, social communication, anxiety, sensory differences, and school-related concerns.
  • Skilled in collaborating with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive, individualized treatment plans.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic approaches commonly used with neurodivergent youth, such as CBT, DBT-informed interventions, ACT, or other appropriate modalities.
  • Ability to educate and support parents and caregivers in understanding neurodiversity and implementing effective strategies at home and in the community.
  • Strong understanding of the social, emotional, and mental health needs of neurodivergent adolescents, with a commitment to promoting resilience, self-advocacy, and independence.
  • Preferred:
    Specialized training, certifications, or continuing education related to autism, ADHD, neurodiversity-affirming care, or adolescent mental health.

Care:

  • Ensure accurate completion of the psychosocial assessment on each patient.
  • Ensure accurate completion of group psychotherapy notes for each patient.
  • Ensure accurate completion of treatment plans.
  • Demonstrate understanding of mental health assessment of child/adolescent population.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of adolescent counseling treatment, group therapy, and evidenced based practices.
  • Provide understanding of adolescent case management.
  • Ensure appropriate discharge plan is in place for each patient.

    Ensure the program operates within all regulations

  • Participate in outcome studies timelines, understanding of administration of the tests and when they are to be reported.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings with medical director.
  • Complete all notes in prescribed timeline.
  • Comply with all regulations.

  • Demonstrate understanding of community education definitions and activities.
  • Participate in customer service training as it relates to community integration.
  • Present Embrace U to community as directed by Administrator.
  • Participate in cohesive team environment to ensure program success.
  • Requirements

    • Education: master’s degree in social work from an accredited graduate school of social work or master’s degree in other counseling related field.
    • Licensure: License in Social Work or Counseling as recognized by state. May include LCSW, LPC, LMFT, etc.
    • Certification: Must meet any applicable state certification standards.

      CPR/BLS certification may be required based on site staffing needs, as at least one staff member onsite must maintain current CPR/BLS certification
    • Experience: Two to three years of clinical experience with adolescent population preferred.
