Location: Northern

Pay or shift range: $33.09 USD to $46.23 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

NMC is currently recruiting a Echosonographer. The position is part-time (40 hours bi-weekly), between 7am - 5pm, variable hours as needed. Echosonographer

JOB SUMMARY:
  • Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic echocardiography examinations according to American Society of Echocardiology (ASE) guidelines.
PRE-REQUISITES:
  • Education
    :
    Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program. Bachelors degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
    Certification
    :

    Active Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or board eligible. BLS required.
RELATIONSHIPS:

    • Diagnostic Imaging Manager
  • Other Contacts:
    • Professional and technological staff, nursing, patients, families, public, hospital staff, students, providers and their staff
SCOPE:
  • Machinery or Equipment Used:
    • Computer, basic office equipment, diagnostic imaging equipment,and patient transport devices
  • Physical Demands:
    • Occasional: sitting, lifting up to 55 lbs., kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching, downward pull and upward push of 50 lbs. Frequent: bending, squatting, stooping, pushing/pulling. Constant: standing & walking
  • Working Conditions:
    • Exposure to electrical, mechanical and radiant energy hazards, possible exposure to blood borne pathogens. Exposure to crisis situations and unpleasant elements of acute traumatic injuries, occasional stress due to work load and competing priorities. Occasional subject to irregular hours
  • Required Protective Equipment:
    • gloves, gowns, goggles, masks, face shield as situation requires
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Incorporates appropriate assessment and intervention skills in all echocardiography examinations according to American Society of Echocardiology (ASE) guidelines.
    • Adapts procedures according to protocol to meet the individual needs of the patient, the provider and the situation
    • Accurately differentiates between normal and abnormal findings
  • Communicates with patients, team members, and management in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Talks with and listens to patients/team members
    • Reports preliminary interpretation with comparative results to the appropriate provider(s)
    • Complete timely clinical documentation
    • Uses all electronic systems to appropriately manage the patient experience
