The post holder will work in the Enfield mental health single point of access. Be an active member of the multi disciplinary team, supervise, teach, and instruct junior workers in assessing and planning patient care.

Working autonomously, the post holder will be required to participate in receiving and screening referrals to the service, carrying out assessments and signposting to the appropriate services, either in the Trust, or externally as appropriate and providing advice and feedback to referrers

The post holder will adhere to Trust policies, data protection and Health and Safety.

• To participate as an effective member of the MDT and be responsible for the development and implementation of a patient centred approach to care: assessing referrals, developing the care needs of patients and their carers
• Use specialist assessment skills and techniques to undertake high quality assessment, including referrals, which may include stressful circumstances and facilitate referral on to appropriate treatment in discussion with Team manager and senior clinicians.
• To ensure that statutory and legal requirements of care are incorporated safely within each patient’s programme of care.
• To participate in SPA high level desktop triage

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
