DescriptionJOB SUMMARY
Responsible for daily assisting the Front Office/Assistant Office Coordinator with front office functions including but not limited to: meeting and greeting patients, registration, scheduling of appointments, insurance verification, filing, cashiering and collections, screens and directs telephone calls. Contributes and assists the physicians and staff to create timely, accurate, and quality healthcare. Reports to the Director of Clinic Patient Access.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business or related field is preferred.
- Previous healthcare or Physician Practice experience preferred.
Required Skills
- Computer skills as well as the ability to type with accurate spelling, grammar and punctuation are required.
- Having the ability to speak clearly and concisely with patients and providers is crucial.
- Must be able to perform duties and maintain personal conduct, attitude and appearance that conform to policies and procedures of the facility.
- Skills in establishing and maintaining effective and professional relationships with patients, medical staff, clerical staff and the public will be essential.

- Accurately obtains and enters patient information into Medical Record database with little or no error.
- Professionally answers all incoming calls. Accurately records messages, and forwards calls appropriately. Completes follow up calls as needed.
- Collects co-payments. Accurately records and processes payments.
- Assists patients in scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling appointments. Completes patient appointment reminders
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills. Able to multi-task.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
- Performs insurance verifications and uses HDX information to identify patient coverage status and amounts due
- Floats to other areas as requested and responds to assignment with a positive attitude.
- Other duties as requested.
