** Why This Respiratory Therapist Role Is Different
** This role stands out due to its large regional coverage (19 counties) combined with a high level of autonomy in organizing patient visits and travel routes. While on-call rotation occurs every other week, most support is handled efficiently through telehealth, with only limited in-home visits required (approximately 10% tied to NIV cases). This creates a manageable balance between responsiveness and work-life stability.

This position offers a flexible schedule that allows you to manage your day effectively while balancing both office and field responsibilities. You’ll work within a collaborative, patient-focused team that values communication, empathy, and high-quality care. With mileage, parking, and toll reimbursements, along with the opportunity to develop your skills, including pediatric exposure, this role provides both stability and growth.
** Key Highlights
*** Work Arrangement:
On-site; 50% office / 50% field

* Hours:

8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
* Travel Coverage: 19 counties, up to 1 hour 40 minutes drive from the branch.
** Salary range*** $32.50 - $34.50 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.
** On-Call transparency
*** On-call rotation every other week.
* Phone assistance and on-call home visits (~10%), primarily for NIV patients
** What you’ll do
*** Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‐ups
* Provide care for both adult and pediatric patients.
* Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
* Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately
* Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
* Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
* Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
* Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
* Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
* Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
* Performs other duties as required
** What we look for
*** Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active NC RT license.
* Open to all levels of experience. Pediatric respiratory experience preferred.
* Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
* Valid driver's license
* Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation
** Education
* ** Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
** Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations
*** Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
* Hold a current CPR Certification
* Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
