** Job Description
** Shriners Children's St. Louis has an opportunity for a PRN Pharmacist.  In this role the pharmacist properly checks, prepares, and distributes medications, and ensures proper control measures of medication and medication storage areas.  Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. * Key Responsibilities:

*** Conducts and oversees the preparation and dispensing of medications, guided by professional standards of practice.
* Receive prescriptions and medication orders from providers
* Check medication orders for proper dosing, contraindications, interactions
* Prepares, fills, and dispenses medications based upon physician orders
* Assesses the appropriateness of medications prescribed, monitors medication effects on the patient and provides drug information to hospital and medical staff
* Assist the Pharmacy Manager in planning, developing, coordinating and controlling pharmacy department functions and in training, supervising and evaluating pharmacy support personnel
* Orders CII controlled substances and maintain control of all controlled substances

* Required Qualifications:

*** Bachelor in Pharmacy
* Pharmacy license in state of practice
*
* Preferred Qualifications:

*** PharmD* 2 years Hospital Pharmacy experience

Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
