Oversee and direct educational, operational and technical aspects of the Perfusion Technology Education Program (PTEP) on an as needed basis. Primary areas of responsibility include design/creation of educational and instructional materials; student instruction, training, consultation and support; programmatic operations (i.e., staffing, financial planning and budgeting, and accreditation/regulatory compliance).
- Ensure maintenance and compliance for Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accreditation.
- Serve as the course director and primary instructor for PTEP students.
- Organize the didactic and clinical education components (i.e., admissions, curriculum review and revision, student disciplinary activities for PTEP students). Ensure appropriate tracking of all educational files and materials.
- Maintain training/simulation facilities and equipment and supplies (includes but not limited to ordering, assembling/disassembling, maintenance and cleaning).
- Function as PTEP student research, academic and clinical advisor/instructor.
- Reviews, recommends and implements necessary operational changes.
- Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, public, and external agencies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors Degree in health sciences, physiology, nursing or another applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Successful completion of an accredited Perfusion Technology Program required.
- Experience as a clinical perfusionist
- Demonstrated history of positive and professional interactions within an interdisciplinary team via written, verbal and in-person communication(s).
- Must be proficient in MS Office Suite.
- 1 year of EPIC experience desired
- Master’s Degree in Perfusion/Cardiovascular Sciences, Health Care Administration or Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required (Master’s preferred).
- 3 years experience as a clinical perfusionist
