Job Summary
Reporting to the Patient Accounts Team Lead, the Patient Account Representative is responsible for resolving inbound patient inquiries related to billing in a multi-channel Contact Center Environment.
Expected Pay Range: $20 - 22/hour
Key Responsibilities- Monitor multi-channel inbound patient billing inquiries to ensure timely response and accurate resolutions.
- Work with patients and insurance carriers to resolve patient billing inquiries.
- Responsible for maintaining individual and departmental goals including Average Handle Time, Service Level, Abandonment Rate, Call Quality, and others.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information with a full understanding of HIPAA requirements.
- Demonstrates flexibility to meet the needs of all internal and external customers including changes to workflows, work volume and work schedules.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 2-4 years in a healthcare environment required, preferably in billing, front office administration or call center.
- Ability to read and understand insurance EOBs.
- Must possess strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to multi-task while maintaining the highest-level of quality in every patient interaction.
- High School diploma or GED required.
Standard office environment with occasional travel to corporate or office locations. Potential exposure to stressful situations and emergency scenarios.
Physical Requirements- Ability to sit for 3-4 hours at a time.
- Fine finger coordination required for typing.
- Ability to speak clearly with team members so others can understand.
- Ability to hear and understand others when speaking.
- Ability to view computer screen monitor, small objects few feet away.
