Position: Respiratory Therapist - WEEKEND PROGRAM

Weekend Program

Full-time FTE .9 - 1st Shift (3 - 12 hour shifts). 1st Shift. At least two (2) years of work experience as a licensed RCP (adult and/or pediatrics) is strongly preferred for this DAY shift opening as established competencies are desired to coordinate closely with interdisciplinary teams and managing complex care plans with high level of autonomy.

Respiratory Therapist

Job Description

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing respiratory care to children in various settings. If you thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting and have a passion for pediatric care, this is your chance to make a real difference one breath at a time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients in various settings.
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to therapy.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory care and management.
  • Apply scientific knowledge, technical expertise, and theory to practical clinical problems.
  • Provide therapeutic, diagnostic, consultative, and supportive services for neonatal through adult patients and their families.
  • Actively participate in resuscitative and emergent situations.
  • Function within professional and hospital standards.
Respiratory Therapist Qualifications
  • Requires a valid Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
  • Requires CRT and RRT.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist and Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Current CPR certification
    - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
  • Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
    - American Heart Association (AHA) training (or required within 6 months).
  • Education - requires completion of a respiratory therapy program.
  • Note:

    No Pediatric work experience is required, at least 2 years of RCP experience strongly preferred for Weekend Program Day shift position.
  • A desire to serve children and families is essential.

  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
    - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council
  • License Respiratory Care Practitioner (28) - State of Wisconsin
  • PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support
    - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council
  • RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist
    - The National Board for Respiratory Care
