Job summary

Under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Manager, The Lead Respiratory Therapist will be trained in all technical aspects of respiratory care and will exhibit those skills and deliver modalities of respiratory therapy, emergent and intensive respiratory care, and diagnostic procedures. The Lead RT will assist with daily clinical operation, coordinates and supervises clinical and technical services provided and provides direct patient care consistent with the caseload and schedule demands.

Job Duties /Responsibilities
  • Supervises, performs and/or act as the resource person for all diagnostic procedures and Respiratory Therapy procedures as outlined in respiratory therapist job description
  • Acts as a resource person and adviser for all other units where Respiratory Therapists are employed or where respiratory therapy procedures are performed by other competent, cross-trained caregivers.
  • Communicates to the department manager any suggestions, information and/or problems associated with the administrative, clinical and/or technical management of departmental operations
  • Monitors staff performance. Lends assistance as needed and ensure proper recording of services performed and generate charges appropriately

Qualifications
  • Current State Respiratory Therapist Licensure.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Required experience in a level 3 NICU or greater >2 years
  • Preferred experience in neonatal transport
  • 5 years of verifiable experience
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • PALS, NRP, Blood Gas Technologist certified within 90 days.
  • NICU experaince, 2 years or more preferred
