SUMMARY

The Lifestyle Coordinator (LC) is an integral role within the Vitality and Well-being Department. The LC collaborates with the team to design, create, and implement multi-dimensional programming that meets IL residents’ needs, wants, and goals. In addition the LC will support tracking participation and engagement of residents in various programming based on the parameters of determined wellness engagement and community wide objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Supports the Vitality and Well-being Department to create, plan, schedule, and implement a multi-dimensional wellness program. This includes, but is not limited to, offerings and opportunities that meet the emotional, environmental, intellectual, musical, nutritional, physical, social, spiritual, and vocational, needs, wants, and goals of the residents.
  • Manages staff; including participation in their hiring, evaluation, recruitment, promotion, and discharge.
  • Leads the team for community wide special events alongside the DVW.
  • Leads weekly and/or monthly programming based on individual interests and strengths for residents of various levels of living. Will be a collaborative effort based on timely planning sessions.
  • Supports marketing efforts of The Sharon with timely photos and content delivered to the marketing department for website updates, etc.
  • Manages campus communication system and services to provide programming information to residents.
  • Supports new resident acclimation through a mapped out orientation process that supports new resident’s needs, wants, and goals.
  • Submits monthly content to resident monthly communication tool.
  • Maintains strong knowledge of desirability and usage of programs, events, and/or offerings by residents. Communicates to DVW opinions, insights, and research to make necessary changes.
  • Works collaboratively with the team to plan and implement family events for residents and their family members.
  • Collaborates with the Community Outreach Coordinator on potential needs for volunteers and how best to utilize volunteer hours.
  • Supports the DVW with updating Policy and Procedure Manuals as determined by team member and resident needs and changes in the community over time.
  • Completes recommended or required cross-training sessions or meetings in order to best support the Vitality and Well-being department and residents across the continuum.
  • Is aware of residents’ physical and dietary limitations. Adheres to these limitations consistent with Residents Rights.
  • Maintains department equipment and supplies along with the team. Completes an annual inventory along with the DVW.
  • Prepares and works within the facility’s approved department budgetary guidelines and operational plans.
  • Completes required monthly budgetary procedures for review with the DVW.
  • Researches and schedules community opportunities, i.e. speakers, instructors, entertainers for social events, lifelong learning opportunities, etc.
  • Helps to ensure the community is prepared for holidays and special events with décor and appropriate supplies.
  • Remains on the alert for conditions that may interfere with the safety and wellbeing of residents. Corrects and /or reports hazardous conditions to appropriate staff.
