Day (United States of America) Referral Coordinator - UF Health Neurosciences
We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Financial Specialist to join our medical office team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering excellent, patient-centered service by supporting front-end financial operations and ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for every patient.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule patient appointments efficiently and accurately
- Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and other patient balances
- Review and discuss outstanding balances with patients in a professional manner
- Enter charges promptly and accurately into the system
- Process referrals in accordance with practice protocols
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information
- Provide a friendly, professional point of entry and exit for patients
- Maintain a comfortable and organized waiting room experience
- Support clinic operations by floating to other practices or adjusting schedules as needed
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One (1) year of experience in financial services, business, physician office, or customer service required
- Two (2) years of relevant business/financial/physician practice experience preferred
- Associate degree or equivalent coursework may substitute for the required experience

- Strong knowledge of verifying patient demographics and insurance information
- Excellent customer service and phone communication skills
- Ability to collect payments professionally and courteously
- Familiarity with CPT and diagnosis coding preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and manage responsibilities effectively
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support colleagues
This position may require flexibility, including floating between practices or adjusting work hours to meet staffing needs.
