POSITION PURPOSE

Primary function is to accurately schedule patients for outpatient procedures. Pre-register patients by entering information into computer accurately and in a professional and courteous manner.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:

    High school graduate or GED preferred. One or two years of college preferred.
  • Experience:

    Hospital or similar medical facility experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.
  • Licenses/Certificates: none required.
  • Skills:

    Strong organizational and time-management skills;
    Ability to coordinate and maintain complex schedules with a high degree of accuracy;
    Excellent customer service, written communication, and interpersonal skills;
    Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and scheduling software;
    Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
    Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities;
    Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records;
    Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
General Responsibilities
  • Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical or employment status or patients of Bradley Medical Center and their families.
  • Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and hospital.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement activities.
  • Communicate in an acceptable, easily understood manner.
  • Responsible for scheduling of patients for outpatient procedures.
  • Responsible for pre-keying patient accounts to create account number.
  • Provide accurate scheduling of patients in accordance with the department scheduling guidelines.
