The Role

Open Train is seeking a Patient Access AI Evaluation Lead with manager- or director-level experience in patient access operations. You will review and improve AI tools related to registration, pre-registration, scheduling, intake coordination, insurance verification, and point-of-service collections.

This intermediate-level, part-time contractor opportunity is based in the United States and requires 20+ hours per week. The rate is $80 per hour, and the working language is English.

What You'll Do

You will combine patient access leadership experience with careful review of AI-generated content and operational workflows. Your feedback should be structured, actionable, and grounded in registration accuracy, compliance, and front-end revenue cycle best practices.

  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs related to patient access processes.
  • Support patient access workflows across inpatient and outpatient settings, including registration, pre-registration, scheduling, and intake.
  • Review and reinforce policies for registration accuracy, demographic capture, and point-of-service collections.
  • Help monitor indicators such as registration accuracy, insurance verification, and front-end denial rates.
  • Support training and mentoring on registration best practices, compliance requirements, and system usage.
  • Document observations and annotate model outputs for AI training datasets.
  • Contribute to cleaner front-end operations that can reduce downstream claim issues.
Requirements

This role requires hands-on experience in patient access, patient registration, or front-end revenue cycle management, along with leadership experience at the manager or director level. You should be able to assess healthcare workflow outputs with close attention to operational detail and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience in patient access, patient registration, scheduling, intake, or front-end revenue cycle management.
  • Manager- or director-level leadership experience in patient access operations.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA, CMS guidelines, and payer requirements.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or similar EHR and registration systems.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Experience developing SOPs or training materials for patient access teams.
  • Ability to evaluate AI-generated healthcare workflow outputs with high attention to detail.
