Inizio Engage has a long-standing partnership with a company that is advancing a pipeline of therapeutic candidates addressing hard-to-treat tumors and viruses. As a customer-facing, field-based medical expert, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will support client’s efforts to expand awareness of its development candidate for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). The MSL will advance scientific and collaborative relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other key members of the healthcare community while serving as a conduit for timely scientific and clinical knowledge exchange between external experts and internal stakeholders.

The role will support engagement, scientific exchange, and the generation and dissemination of medical and scientific knowledge to help advance awareness of the candidate. What will you be doing?

Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with AML KOLs, and other healthcare professionals to support client’s efforts to expand awareness of its development candidate. Serve as a field-based scientific resource, supporting awareness and understanding client’s development candidate and facilitating appropriate scientific exchange related to AML. Attend and provide medical/scientific support at relevant national and regional medical congresses, scientific meetings, and professional conferences, including engaging with KOLs and other healthcare professionals.

Develop and maintain in-depth scientific and clinical knowledge of AML, including the evolving treatment landscape, standards of care, emerging therapies, clinical research, and relevant scientific literature. Engage KOLs in balanced, non-promotional scientific dialogue and identify opportunities for scientific collaboration, evidence generation, publications, congress activities, and medical education initiatives aligned with client’s objectives. Collect and communicate relevant medical, scientific, competitive, and clinical insights from the field to appropriate internal stakeholders.

Support the development and delivery of scientific presentations, training, FAQs, scientific response materials, and other medical communications, ensuring information is accurate, balanced, scientifically rigorous, and compliant with applicable policies and regulations. Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external partners to support effective execution of objectives.

What do you need for this position?
  • 3+ years of experience as an MSL in the field of hematological malignancies required; additional relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, Medical Affairs, or clinical research environment highly preferred
  • Strong clinical and scientific experience in Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), hematologic malignancies, and/or oncology strongly preferred
  • Advanced degree in a medical and/or scientific field (i.e., PharmD, PhD, MD), or advanced clinical experience in a relevant discipline (i.e., RN, APN, NP, PA-C), required
  • Experience supporting clinical trials, investigators, clinical research sites, and/or clinical development programs preferred
  • Established relationships with KOLs in hematological malignancies;
