DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) - Day Program
What You’ll DoDirect Support Professionals play an important role within our organization and in the lives of the individuals we serve. PPCH is currently looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support our day program members clients in a variety of community settings. Thrive as a caregiver and each day you’ll:
- provide meaningful, educational, and supportive services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receiving community-based services in a variety of settings
- support an environment where our members receiving services are healthy, safe and valued by others by possibly assisting them with learning and exploring their community and their personal interests according to their person-centered support plan or personal goals
- be assisting our members in services with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care and hygiene or moving to and from a wheelchair
- comply with all PPCH policies and the rules and regulations of all State and Federal oversight agencies
- maintain respectful and professional relationships with our members receiving services, guardians, family members, team members and other staff members
- attend PPCH team, staffing, and interdisciplinary team meetings as needed or as requested

What You’ll Need- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- To successfully complete the required training provided by PPCH
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite or other similar software is required
- Must be able to document all services provided in PPCH systems, as trained
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with effective listening skills, even when non-traditional communication is used
- Must be able to respectfully address issues of health and safety while supporting an individual’s choices and maintaining their dignity
- Able to work and adhere to your schedule independently with little or no direct supervision, holding yourself accountable to deadlines
- A current, valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to meet PPCH’s driving requirements
- Experience working with adults with development or intellectual disabilities
- Experience working within the Colorado Developmental Disabilities system
- The ability to safely operate a 15-passenger van
- Work may be performed in a private home or in a public community setting and rarely performed in an office setting and work may be performed either indoors or outdoors
- Work may involve physically assisting others, including pushing and /or pulling individuals who use wheelchairs or other assistive devices, transferring individuals with mobility needs, and assisting with daily living activities
- Frequent lifting or carrying of approximately 15 pounds and occasionally lifting, moving, or transferring up to 75 pounds
- You will be driving throughout the Denver metro area on a regular basis and driving, walking or standing for extended periods of time

Hiring Range: Starting at $20.00 per hour
