Job SummaryTo assist the athletic training staff in providing the best possible medical care for the student-athletes and visiting athletic teams. Including care, prevention and rehabilitation of injuries to our student athletes without regard to race, creed, color, national origin, sexual orientation or gender. Emphasis is placed on prevention such as taping, protective equipment, flexibility training. Additionally the incumbent will provide a professional clinical setting for Long Beach State students interested in pursuing a career in athletic training.
Key Responsibilities- Cover home events (games and practices) and travel with assigned team(s).
- Injury evaluation, treatment, and first-aid care.
- Plan and implement rehabilitation programs for serious injuries or post-surgical conditions. Keep and maintain medical records for each athlete or sport, including date of injury, evaluation of injury, treatment or rehabilitation protocol and progress report.
- Administrative duties as assigned by Head Athletic Trainer – in charge of inventory records, student athlete physicals, or insurance processing.
- Assist in supervision of athletic training students in the training room and at the practice or competition facility.
1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of AppointmentThis is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

CompensationSalary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range:
The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,482 (Step #1) - $6,530(Step #20) per month.
