Description
Under the general supervision of the PI, the employee will conduct studies in mouse models and cell culture systems investigating the role of meningeal lymphatics and other related brain clearance pathways in neurodegeneration. The successful candidate will have had prior experience with rodent survival surgeries and in training of these techniques to others. The successful candidate will have at least two years of prior experience in neuroscience or a brain related field and be able to operate independently when performing experiments.
Duties include:
performing precise stereotactic surgeries on mice, handle and inject various constructs and compounds into the brain, process tissue for histological and immunohistochemical stains, independently run aspects of research projects related to brain clearance pathways and neurodegeneration, supervise undergraduate Lab Helpers, train graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in surgery, participate and help in lab maintenance, supply ordering and all compliance tasks required for biohazard and chemical disposal protocols, perform PCR, gel electrophoreris, manage transgenic mouse colonies, and perform cell culture.
Hourly salary range: 32.79 - 52.75
